There’s nothing like a warm bowl of soup to make you feel nice and cosy on a cold day. Here are some of my best soup recipes that will comfort you in any season!

Garden Tomato Soup

My Garden Tomato Soup recipe is fall in a bowl! I use fresh summer tomatoes and a few other simple ingredients to make the most comforting tomato soup! Don’t forget the grilled cheese!

Sausage, Kale & White Bean Soup

This soup was inspired by ‘ribollita’, a classic Italian soup made with white beans and vegetables. Enjoy this one-pot soup this spring with a slice of your favourite local bread.

Chicken Udon Noodle Soup

Chicken Noodle Soup gets an upgrade with this Japanese version of Chicken Udon Noodle Soup! This soup is a whole meal in one and is sure to warm you up!

Carrot, Ginger & Turmeric Soup

This healthy soup is made with fresh carrots, ginger and turmeric and is great to have during the winter season. Not only will it fight off the colds, it will keep your waistline slim during the holiday season!

Roasted Red Pepper Soup

When you see fresh red bell peppers go on sale at the market or grocery store, it’s a sign from the Food Gods that you need to make this delicious Roasted Red Pepper Soup. Typically, red bell peppers are the most expensive out of all the varieties of bell peppers. That’s because they are simply the best! They’re sweet, crunchy and refreshing and continue to be a crowd favourite time and time again- just like this summer soup!

Beef Stew with Dumplings

Beef stew on it’s own is fabulous, but adding homemade dumplings to it brings it to a whole new level! The dumplings are made with simple ingredients that you most likely have in your kitchen already, are a cinch to execute, and looks so gourmet. This dumpling studded stew is sure to warm and impress you and your family!

Wonton Soup

This recipe for Wonton Soup can be whipped up in under 15 minutes if you plan ahead and make the wontons in advance. I like to make a big batch and freeze them in plastic bags for when I am in need of a quick soup fix. This recipe is very versatile- you can use whatever stock you prefer, you can use vegetarian or meat-based wontons, and you can add whatever veggies you like! You can even up the protein by adding small cubes of tofu to the soup as well.

Homemade Congee

Congee is a warming, hearty, stick-to-your ribs kind of soup which makes it great for the late fall and winter months. There are many variations on this traditional Chinese soup, but in my version I use pork, wood ear mushrooms, cabbage and I garnish it with almonds, not peanuts! I love the bite that the wood-ear mushrooms give this soup (they kind of have the texture of seaweed) and of course the deep umami flavour. If you don’t have wood-ear mushrooms, feel free to substitute them with cremini mushrooms, although many Asian grocers will carry them in a dehydrated form.

Cauliflower and Roasted Garlic Soup

This creamy and silky cauliflower soup gets a sweet and nutty edge from three heads of roasted garlic and a little bite from raw garlic. You can eat this soup as is, or serve it with crispy garlic chips and a drizzle of garlic olive oil to really impress your friends and family!

Curried Butternut Squash Soup

Keep warm and cozy with this sweet and spicy curried butternut squash soup- even on the coldest and rainiest fall days!

Basic Betch-table Soup

On a cold day, it is always nice to curl up with a nice bowl of hot soup. But for those cold days when you literally can’t even, you need this Basic Betch-table Soup. This vegetable soup is simple, filling, and can be made with whatever vegetables that you have in your fridge.
