Fall Harvest Sangria - Season & Serve Blog

A Light and Refreshing White Wine Sangria

Sangria is a famous drink that originated in Spain, where it was traditionally made with red wine, fresh fruit, and spices. Over time, sangria has evolved into many variations, with people creating their own unique spins on this refreshing, fruit-filled beverage. While red wine is traditionally used for its bold flavour and rich colour, white wine sangria (and even rosé sangria!) has become just as popular, especially for those who prefer a lighter, more delicate drink.

For this Fall Harvest Sangria, I opted for white wine—specifically an unoaked Chardonnay—to let the flavours of the fall fruits really come through. The crispness of the Chardonnay pairs beautifully with the apples, pears, oranges, and cranberries, and complements the seasonal spices and Grand Marnier.

A Great Make-Ahead Batched Drink

One of the greatest benefits of this Harvest Sangria is its make-ahead convenience. You can prepare it the night before or the morning of your party, giving you more time to focus on preparing your meal and hosting. As the sangria rests, the flavors marry and develop, becoming even more delicious over time. It’s the perfect solution for a relaxed, no-fuss holiday beverage!

When you are ready to serve this Fall Sangria, you just have to remove it from the refrigerator, pour it into wine glasses, and garnish with fresh fruit. Whether you’re serving it as guests arrive or as an accompaniment to a meal, this Harvest Sangria will add a seasonal touch of flavour to your fall gathering!
