Garden Tools: Your Must-Have Essentials
Felco #2 Pruner
A high-quality pruner is indispensable for keeping your garden tidy and healthy. The Felco #2 Pruner is durable, sharp, and ergonomic, making it a favourite among gardeners for trimming branches, harvesting herbs, and maintaining plants. I use this pruner every season and it has not lost it’s sharpness yet! The great thing with this pruner is that you can take it apart to clean it and sharpen it when it needs maintenance, so you will have it forever!
Lee Valley Trowel
Perfect for digging, planting, and transplanting, the Lee Valley Trowel is a sturdy and comfortable tool that will last for years. Its ergonomic design reduces hand fatigue, making garden tasks more enjoyable. It is also incredibly chic and goes great with any garden aesthetic!
Maine Garden Hod
Harvest your produce in style with this beautiful and functional garden hod. It’s great for carrying fruits, vegetables, and flowers, and its open design allows you to wash your harvest directly in the basket. Make sure that you bring this inside and keep it dry if it is raining as I found the wood handle does warp and split if it receives too much moisture.

Lee Valley Shovel
A reliable shovel is essential for bigger tasks like digging holes, turning soil, or planting shrubs and trees. This stainless-steel shovel from Lee Valley Tools is both durable and lightweight, ensuring you can tackle tough jobs with ease!
Garden Tool Maintenance Set
Keep your tools in top condition with this garden tool maintenance set. This set has all of the sharpening and maintenance tools that you need to keep your garden tools in tip-top shape. Regular sharpening and cleaning at the end of every garden season will extend the life of your tools and ensure they perform at their best.
Garden Obelisk
Support climbing plants like sweet peas, beans, or tomatoes and make your garden look beautiful with this elegant garden obelisk. It adds height and structure to your garden while providing essential support for vining plants. I use the large version of this obelisk to support my David Austin Tranquility Rose year-round and a tomato plant during the summer months.

Berg’s Potter Copenhagen Pot
Berg’s Potter is one of my favourite pottery brands for its elegant design. These terracotta pots are handcrafted in Italy and are perfect for container gardening, whether you’re growing herbs, flowers, or small vegetables. Their timeless design complements any garden or patio. I like to purchase mine at The Cross Decor and Design in downtown Vancouver when they have them in store.
Terra Cotta Pot Feet
Elevate your pots with these terracotta pot feet to improve drainage and prevent water damage to your patio or deck. I recently discovered these when I was designing my Mediterranean Balcony Garden and now I am obsessed and buying more to add to other plant pots that I have in my garden!

Seed Starting Essentials
Seed Starting Trays
Start your garden off right with these durable seedling trays, perfect for germinating seeds indoors. These can be cleaned at the end of every spring and stored for use again and again!
Lightweight Mesh Tray
Ideal for holding seed trays, these mesh trays allow for proper airflow and drainage. They also help support the seed starting trays and give them extra sturdiness when growing your seedlings.
Seedling Domes
Seedling domes create the perfect environment for germination by maintaining humidity and warmth. Always remember to remove the domes from your seedlings once they have all germinated. This will allow for proper airflow and will prevent the seedlings from rotting from too much moisture.

Top Seeds For Your Garden
I always like to try growing new plants from seed every year. But if I had to only choose an handful of seeds to grow, it would be this collection below. Check out my other posts on my Home & Garden page to learn more about these different seed varieties and their characteristics.
Vegetables
- Sungold Cherry Tomatoes: The sweetest and juiciest cherry tomato I have ever grown!
- Sweet Million Cherry Tomatoes: A prolific variety with delicious, bite-sized fruits on trailing vines.
- Green Zebra Tomatoes: Add visual interest and unique flavour to your garden with these green striped tomatoes.
- Genovese Basil: A classic herb for all your summertime culinary needs. Plant under tomatoes for the perfect companion plant!
- Royal Burgundy Bush Bean: These deep purple beans are easy to grow and delicious. Sadly, they turn green once they are cooked, but it’s a cool magic trick when cooking!

Flowers
- Snowpuff Cosmos: Bright and cheerful, cosmos add a pop of color to any garden. The white frills on this variety are beautiful during the summer months!
- Blue Boy Cornflower: These classic blue flowers are perfect for pollinator gardens.
- Oklahoma Salmon Zinnia: Add a touch of elegance with these salmon-colored zinnias.
