Introducing: The Market Tote

I am thrilled to finally announce the launch of my first piece of merchandise from my blog: The Market Tote! This project has been in the works for quite some time, and I am finally able to say it is available for purchase now on my blog!

As always, I designed this tote with the best intentions and seasonal living in mind. I can’t wait to share all the details and background behind why I made this with you.

A West Coast-Inspired Design Made in Vancouver, BC

As you may know, I’m passionate about seasonal living here on the West Coast of Canada. That is why I designed the print on this tote to reflect some of my favourite West Coast ingredients. From spring peas, to Dungeness crab, to mushrooms, to squash— these are all West Coast-staples that I love to cook with and share in my recipes. I love that the design really evokes the best ingredients from the West Coast, all while remaining stylish and practical!

The Market Tote has this design screen printed directly on the front of the bag. Made from heavy-duty polyester fabric with sturdy nylon handles, this grocery tote will durable enough to handle all your grocery hauls for years to come. Plus, I’m proud to say that these totes are printed locally in Vancouver, British Columbia by the company, Coastal Reign. Designed with Intention and Purpose

When designing a piece of merchandise, I was very careful and selective of what I was going to make. While mugs, beer koozies, and t-shirts are fun, I find that a lot of the basic merchandise that businesses make are wasteful and many people do not actually end up using them.

I decided on creating a custom grocery tote bag because just about everyone has to go out and buy groceries, and these bags will help replace the use of paper bags, plastic bags, and poorly designed reusable bags. This grocery tote is incredibly strong compared to other grocery bags that I have used, meaning this bag will last for years to come!

What Makes The Market Tote Different?

I love so many features of The Market Tote. For one, it is unlike any other grocery tote that I have used in that it is actually able to stand upright on its own! This is a game-changer when you are packing your groceries after paying as the bag can stand up and remain open while you pack away your groceries without the hassle of it collapsing or flopping over. This also lessens the stress of getting your bags packed before the next customers groceries begin to pile up!

I also love the functional details that other grocery bags do not have. The exterior pocket is perfect for carrying a bottle of wine and it easily fits into the slip pocket on the side of the bag. It is a secure fit so the bottle will not fall out, and I love that you can tuck the bottle under your arm to help you protect it even further from getting damaged in transport.

The inclusion of two small interior slip pockets also helps you to stay organized. While the slip pockets are not that big, they hold your essentials like you cards, cash, and keys in place and out of sight from others. I can also fit my old iPhone 11 into the pockets as well, so if you have an old phone like I do, it will fit in the pocket!
